Let It Snow
Story by lilacgiraffe
You sighed, placing your book down and looking at the rain around you from under the overhanging roof of a building. "This sucks." It was one week from Christmas and yet, there was no snow again. "Woe is me," you cried out, dramatically waving you arms about you like a Shakespearean actor, "for there art not a signal snowflake to kiss the earth. Woe. Woe!" You spun into rain and fell into the grass, placing your hand onto your forehead. You look from under your hand, checking that no one was there. You grinned, feeling your jeans and sweater stick to you and laughed.
"You appear to be insane." You heard someone say. You sit up, your (h/c) hair sticking to your face as you look for the onlooker.
"Ah!" You scream, feeling something slide behind you. You jump up, loosing your beanie in the process, and look at where you were sitting, only to find no one there. "Huh, I must be going insane." you mutter.
"Must be." the voice from before said, behind you again. This time, you were ready. You stepped on the man's foot before turning to face him, grabbing his shirt. "Ow." the pale teen moaned before smirking, "You're heavier than you look." You couldn't even try to contain the shocked look on your face. You stared at the boy, trying to understand why he would say that. You had never seen him before but you wish he went to your school. His hair was white and looked as soft as a winter hares. His pale blue eyes matched his sweater and his brown pants were torn at the bottom, his feet bare. He was gorgeous.
You blushed but remembered what he had said, you turned to get your book and started to walk away, hunched over to protect it from the rain. "Wait!" he called out, grabbing your wrist, "Sorry," he shrugged, releasing your wrist and rubbing the back of his neck, "I didn't mean it like that."
"Ya, well..." you mutter, blushing, "it's fine." You turn to leave again but he spins to around again.
"Hey," he grins, his blue eyes sparkling, "want to see something cool?"
"Uh..." you look around at the deserted park, "are you going to try and kill me?"
"Haha!" his laugh was free, like a child's, "No, nothing like that! Come on!" He grabbed your wrist again and pulled you into the surrounding woods. Turning for a moment, he speaks to you, "My name's Jack, by the way."
"Uh, (y/n)." You pant, trying to run with him and not trip. Suddenly, Jack stops, causing you to hit his back. "Ow, what the He-" you stop complaining when he turns to face you, holding a large staff and grinning like a kid on Christmas.
"(y/n)..." he mummers, testing your name on his tongue, "I like it! Now, (y/n)" you blush, hearing him say it again, "watch this." he leans and whispers into your ear, smirking, touching a tree with his staff. You gasped as frost covered the tree, making it look sugar coated. You touched it, treating it like glass.
You turned to face Jack, "How did you..." you were still in awe as the teen stepped closer to you.
"Because," he said, his voice low as he progressed towards you, "I'm Jack Frost."
"You're..." you stumbled back, already cold clothes touching the frozen tree, you jump, right into Jack's arms.
"Yep. I'm Jack Frost," He smirked as you blushed, wrapping his arms around your waist, "and something tells me that you're excited that I'm real." You blush burns brighter against Jack's soggy sweater.
"I just wanted it to snow." you mumble. Then, something soft and cold lands on the back of your neck. You look up, past Jack, and see the air filling with snowflakes. Jack looks down at you and mumbles into you neck " Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. "
